The Pacific Association for Early Childhood Education Research (Hong Kong Chapter) has been granted worldwide Chinese-language rights by Teachers College Press to publish ECERS-R 2005, ITERS-R 2006, and ECERS-E 2010. The currently available Chinese versions of the assessment scales include the latest information and annotations prepared by the authors. ECERS-R, ECERS-E, and ITERS-R are Early Childhood Learning Environment Assessment Scales® – Revised Edition (ECERS-R) used to assess the learning environments provided by different early childhood centers for children aged two and a half to five years. The Infant Learning Environment Assessment Scales® – Revised Edition (ITERS-R) is the infant version of these scales, designed specifically for children aged zero to two and a half years. Both scales contain a comprehensive set of statements, or "indicators" described in the scales, to assess different aspects of early childhood learning environments. These indicators showcase the strengths of the assessed environment, highlight areas for improvement, and provide a thorough assessment methodology to facilitate gradual quality improvement: Space and Facilities Personal Daily Care Language – Reasoning Activities Interaction Curriculum Structure Parents and Teachers ECERS-R and ITERS-R were developed by Thelma Harms, Richard Clifford, and Debby Cryer at the University of North Carolina. The Early Childhood Learning Environment Assessment Scale® – Curriculum Update (ECERS-E) was designed by Kathy Sylva, Iram Siraj-Blatchford, and Brenda Taggart and is part of the EPPE research project.
